Russian authorities is considering prohibition of payments in cryptocurrencies

This proposal was made by Anatoly Aksakov and it concerns the prohibition of payments for goods and services using digital currencies.

According to the Head of the Duma Committee, the initiative aims to increase the attractiveness of digital assets as an investment, concerning investment platforms and information systems, on the basis of which such assets are launched.

It is argued that all measures are aimed at reducing the number of fraudulent transactions that arise when crypto-assets are used for criminal purposes and are used to pay for services rendered and goods delivered. Operators represented by crypto-exchanges will control transactions and exchange facts.

Earlier Aksakov mentioned that active discussion of cryptocurrencies does not allow the quick appearance of a ready draft law.
