After a slight drop, the complexity of BTC mining continues to set new records. The last change in this parameter ended with a 10.26% increase.
Extreme weather conditions, which forced many miners in the US to shut down equipment in December to reduce the load on the power grid, caused the hashrate to drop slightly. After that, however, the difficulty level continues to set new record highs during January.
Note that for experts at BTC.com, Braiins, and Luxor, this significant increase was quite expected:
The big miners are scaling up, and they're constantly expanding capacity with more and more efficient and better equipment.
While the storm in the U.S. has distorted the real picture of the mining industry somewhat, the overall trend remains quite clear.
