Countries with the most interest in the PoS algorithm transition were founded

CoinGecko has published the results of a study identifying the countries where users were most interested in Ethereum Merge. The research is based on data from Google Trends.

The results have been put into a list of 8 countries, according to the search queries, by keyword phrase. Singapore was the undisputed leader, scoring 377 points. “Silver” was shared by Canada and Switzerland, which had 286 points. However, the requests were slightly different. While Canada’s most searched for “ETH PoW,” Switzerland’s most searched for “ETH” and “ETH Merge.” Next on the list are Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, and Turkey.

CoinGecko noted that users are very much looking forward to the merger process and are interested in what happens to the cryptocurrency ecosystem after that. The company also said that the top 8 include countries with quite strong cryptocurrency communities, which is why they are the leaders in the ranking.

Another interesting point is that the queries that refer to Ethereum exceed Ethereum Classic by 40%. It shows that despite Vitalik Buterin’s statements that ETC will be a good option for those who prefer PoW, most of the community is in solidarity with the opinion of Charles Hoskinson, who called Ethereum Classic a “useless blockchain.”
