Illegal mining farm found on school grounds in the U.S.

In Cohasset, Massachusetts, cryptocurrency mining devices were found in the basement of a local school. The organizer turned out to be a former employee.

The accused Nadeem Nahas will answer to the law not only for stealing resources but also for vandalizing school property. According to preliminary estimates, the monetary value of the stolen electricity is $18,000. Note that cryptocurrency mining was conducted in 2021.

The illegal business was discovered by the school principal who noticed the ducts and computing devices. The investigation revealed the identity of Nadim Nahas, who set up a mining farm of 11 devices.

State authorities noted that this is not the first time that miners have stolen electricity to mine digital currencies. The police also note that cases of complaints about such crimes have increased significantly recently.
