Compass Mining received a lawsuit for a large sum of money

The BTC miner was sued for refusing to return the equipment located in Russia.

As a result, Compass Mining was accused of fraud, as its partner, Bit River, was not warned that the owners of the devices were those who eventually filed the claim, and not the miner himself, who acted only as an intermediary. The amount stated in the lawsuit is $2 million.

Compass Mining and Bit River’s collaboration ended early last year. The plaintiffs claim there was no attempt by Compass to return or exchange the assets.

The Texas-based company said it could not cooperate in any way with its Russian partner. In turn, Bit River also refused to resolve the issues.

Moreover, the claim specifies that Compass’s statement that 95% of the equipment will not fail is false because the figure did not exceed 50-60%.

Recall that earlier the Texas-based miner stopped working in Georgia, promising to redirect customers to the United States.
