Cannabis producer Akerna is to be taken over by Gryphon Digital

BTC miner Gryphon Digital intends to promote carbon-neutral mining and go public with an IPO. As for Akerna, the medical marijuana maker is selling its closest competitors, MJ Platform and Leaf Data Systems, a software development business.

The main buyer in the deal will be POSaBIT, which is leading the payments industry, and the contract amount is expected to reach $4 million. When all processes are completed, the merged company will be called Gryphon Digital Mining.

The owners of the BTC-miner will get a significant equity stake advantage: more than 90% of the shares.

Earlier, the Mendocino Clone Company developed a project to apply blockchain technology to the movement of cannabis at all stages of production. According to the plans, the first cannabis plant certificates on the blockchain will appear as early as February. It will also be possible to trace all stages of product formation and determine authenticity.
