A lawyer fraudulently took a large amount of money for the return of mining devices and received a sentence

The lawyer demanded a large amount of money for his “assistance” in return for the confiscated ASIC-miners in another case. As a result, he stood trial himself and received a sentence of three years in prison.

According to information provided by the Orenburg investigative authorities, the accused was found guilty.

The crime was committed more than a year ago, when one of the defendants in the criminal case, the lawyer offered to bribe police officers and thereby help return the confiscated equipment.

The perpetrator was detained red-handed when he was receiving the 15 million rubles requested from the victim. In addition to three years of imprisonment, he was sentenced to a fine of half a million rubles. He was also forbidden to be a lawyer for 2.5 years. At the moment, the fraudster’s property has been arrested, and he is waiting for the moment the verdict to come into force.
