Vitalik Buterin is going to defend PoW

The co-founder of Ethereum said that he doesn’t agree with the position of the authorities about the PoW algorithm. Buterin launched the survey on Twitter to find out the opinion of his crypto-community.

Additionally he published a post where he criticized the prohibition of mining in New York. Vitalik Buterin is sure that the moratorium can be just a tool for the control of the projects objectionable by the officials.

Buterin said that it is definitely wrong when the government decides what is acceptable for electricity use and what is not. He offered to implement extra-fees for carbon emissions and use part of these resources for compensation expenses to users with low income.

The ETH co-founder supported the candidate for the Senate Bruce Fenton (New-Hempshire state) who also said that prohibition of mining according to PoW only is incorrect.
