Cryptocurrency mining devices were found in a psychiatric hospital in Irkutsk

Two illegal cryptocurrency mining farms were found in a mental hospital located in the village of Sosnovy Bor near Irkutsk by representatives of the prosecutor’s office, police, and EMERCOM. 

A total of 13 devices were found: eight in one and five in the other farm. All the equipment was located above the rooms where the patients were. The head doctor of the psychiatric hospital states that he had nothing to do with the asic miners found. The main danger was that the farms could have caused a fire, which would have led to a tragedy.  

The miners are now facing liability for an administrative offense. In addition, an audit will be conducted to assess the damage caused by the illegal consumption of electricity. 

Recall that earlier the Irkutsk miner was accused of stealing electricity worth 1.6 million as a result of the illegal connection of 130 devices to the power grid.
