The State Duma voiced comments on the draft law on mining

According to Interfax, the State Duma believes that the document contains several flaws and also requires the approval of the Bank of Russia.

Questions arose regarding the taxation of miners. As the draft contains requirements, but the category “miners” is not in the Tax Code. It was also emphasized that the authors of the draft law do not distinguish between the concepts of “turnover” and “creation” of digital currency.

The legal department of the State Duma states:

The materials that were submitted together with the bill do not contain explanations as to whether amendments to the Tax Code are required. Also, the amendments regarding mining can not be attributed to the article on the circulation of digital currencies.

The document, which caused a large amount of controversy and commentary, was introduced on November 17.
