The document to limit the tariffs for miners did not find support in Paraguay

The draft law, which considered the limitation of tariffs for mining on electricity, did not pass the approval process. Its main purpose was to form the criteria for regulating the exchange, storage, and other transactions with cryptocurrency assets.

The bill had previously passed in Congress but was vetoed by President Mario Abdo Benitez during the consideration phase. It drew criticism from the Senate, whose representatives argued that the head of state ignored the activities of miners and forced them to work in the shadow of regulators.

The lower house of Paraguay’s legislature is also in favor of cryptocurrency mining. In particular, because the availability of renewable energy in the country allows miners to work and the state to benefit from taxation of activities.
