Have Texas miners destabilized the power grid?

Democratic lawmakers, led by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, criticized the Texas miners.

First, a request was sent to the Electric Reliability Board to find out the amount of energy consumed by the miners over the past six years. The senders believe that the energy consumed by cryptocurrency mining would be enough to power a city of 830,000 homes.

On this basis, they consider the increase in the number of businesses that engage in mining to be critical to the power grid. Also, the letter addresses the issue of taxes and states that residents should not support mining with tax deductions.

For its part, the Republican Party from Texas has the opposite attitude toward the miners. Governor Greg Abbott has expressed his intention to make Texas the BTC mining capital of the world.
