The protocol of BTC mining has changed. It hasn’t happened in 10 years

Jack Dorsey (Twitter) and Block have joined forces with Braiins, which develops mining software, to form a new industry standard for BTC mining. For now, the work is being done on the Stratum protocol, which started 10 years ago.

Compared to the current processes, several changes have been proposed to improve security. For example, the weaknesses of Stratum, which are used to steal the hashrate of other asic-miners, will be fixed.

Also, with the help of the new protocol, the efficiency of sending data is improved by reducing its volume. The only connection with the pool is to reduce energy consumption.

The beta stage is planned for as early as November. The final decision will be made by the pools.
