Mining company to build data center in Texas

Riot Blockchain, Inc. is expanding its company with the construction of a new 1-gigawatt data center. The facility will appear in Corsicana, Navarro County, Texas (USA).

Chad Harris, Riot’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, opined that the project is groundbreaking for the company. The specialist is also confident that the new mining facility will be beneficial to rural communities.

After the construction of the new data center, there will be jobs for the local population. Also the object will bring profit to the region.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 18. Representatives from the local government and Riot Blockchain, Inc. attended the event. The plan is to begin mining operations in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The project has been approved by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (“ERCOT”).
