In a significant breakthrough, Kaliningrad police have apprehended suspects in a major theft involving mining equipment valued at 3.9 million rubles. The theft, which occurred in January, involved the disappearance of an extensive array of mining hardware, including 67 video cards, 54 risers, and 16 cases, from a basement on Tovarnaya Street.  according to Bits.media.

The culprits, a 23-year-old local and his 21-year-old accomplice, employed a daring method by dismantling a wall from an adjacent cellar to carry out their heist. Additionally, a 19-year-old was identified as the fence for the stolen goods. Following thorough investigations and searches at the suspects’ residences, law enforcement has managed to recover part of the stolen equipment, providing some relief to the victim.

A criminal case under the charge of “Large Scale Theft” has been initiated, with the suspects currently detained and potentially facing up to ten years in prison along with fines up to 1 million rubles.
