Iris Energy: British Columbia authorities’ decision had no impact on business

This week, authorities in the Canadian province of British Columbia responded to the increased demand for electricity. They decided to refuse to connect new mining companies to the power grid.

Iris Energy, which has facilities in the province, said such a decree won’t affect the operation of its data centers with a capacity of 160 MW. Thus, the facilities in Canal Flats, Prince George, and Mackenzie will be able to continue mining as they are already in operation.

In addition, Iris Energy has expressed its willingness to continue working with BC Hydro on various development projects. The company is currently building a 600 mW data center in Texas, working to develop a diversified lineup.
