Draft law on mining rejected by deputies

Deputies of the Russian State Duma rejected the first bill version concerning the mining of digital currencies.

Anatoly Aksakov also opposed the adoption of this document. The main reason was that the law proposed using of digital currencies as a means of payment. This proposal does not comply with one of the provisions of the Russian Constitution.

In addition, the deputies did not find in the draft law issues that would affect the regulation, creation, and issuance of cryptocurrencies in circulation, as well as the definition of property rights.

As a result, the document was perceived as fragmentary and was rejected.
