U.S. Democratic Party intends to collect more data on miners

Democrats received several letters reflecting the negative impact of mining on the environment. As a result, the question arose about the introduction of a data collection and disclosure regime.

One letter indicated the need to work with data collection agencies to determine the environmental impact of mining.

The climate crisis and the active growth of cryptocurrency mining lead to the need to share information and introduce requirements for miners to provide all necessary information.

Democratic Representative Elizabeth Warren is a fierce critic of the cryptocurrency industry. Late last year, she and Roger Marshall, one of the senators, introduced a bill to combat money laundering. It focused heavily on the role of cryptocurrencies in financing terrorist entities. The FTX crash was presented as a vivid example of the danger of such assets and markets.

Elizabeth Warren also initiated a draft law regulating the U.S. sanctions in the crypto-sphere.
