BTC mining in Kenya will help reduce electricity costs

Gridless, a Kenyan bitcoin miner, said it will help the local community reduce electricity costs.

Gridless representatives said that at the moment everyone is using mini-HPPs of less than 100 kilowatts, but the big plants, capable of generating 500 kilowatts, are on the horizon. Gridless noted:

Work is underway with hydroelectric generators to see how excess mining capacity can help local communities.

One Twitter user, nicknamed Nick H, told us that villages in Kenya with power plants are using up 10% of the available power. As a result, at the moment, most of the available power is wasted to no avail. Mining companies can help streamline the process.
