Bitdeer Pioneers Crypto Mining Expansion with Norway and Bhutan Data Centers

Bitdeer Technologies Group aims to conquer the crypto mining sphere. The company announced its June 2023 operational updates, marking aggressive expansion. In June, Bitdeer initiated construction of a 175MW immersion cooling data center in Tydal, Norway. CEO Linghui Kong expects its completion by 2025, according to cryptoslate

Moreover, a 100MW Gedu mining data center in Bhutan is set to launch operations in July. These strategic moves are set to increase Bitdeer’s aggregate electricity capacity and boost the managed hash rate. As a result, it reached 18.8 EH/s in June, a significant rise from May’s 18.0 EH/s.

In a move to provide additional shareholder value, Bitdeer also initiated a $1 million share repurchase program. It demonstrates the company’s confidence in its performance and future growth.

Bitdeer’s managed mining machines tally also increased, rising from 191,000 in May to 199,000 in June. The company is expecting an additional 22,000 machines at the Gedu Datacenter, which is expected to add another 100MW to Bitdeer’s capacity. These endeavors underline Bitdeer’s commitment to strengthening its crypto mining prowess.
