The bill on the legalization of mining did not come up for consideration during the spring session

It became known that the issue of regulation of cryptocurrencies and mining in Russia is not under consideration during the spring session. It suggests that this draft law has been postponed for an indefinite and probably long period.

Recall that the document was supposed to introduce the concepts of “mining”, and “mining pool” and prohibit the advertising of digital currencies.

At the moment there is no clarification from the deputies on the postponement of the consideration of the document. It is known that initially, difficulties arose at the stage of coordination with the Central Bank, which regarded the mechanism of exchange of cryptocurrencies as “non-transparent”. Then, in early 2023, additional questions arose from law enforcement agencies.

It follows that cryptocurrency mining in Russia will remain in a gray area and there is currently no reliable data on whether officials will be able to make it legal next year.
