Putin Warns: BTC Miners Causing Power Outages in Russian Regions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Bitcoin miners are overloading the power grid, leading to electricity outages in some regions. In response, the government is introducing mining regulations and offering miners excess energy in other areas.

Previously, residents of the Irkutsk region reported a 160% increase in energy consumption due to mining. The new measures aim to balance the energy system and prevent further disruptions.

Experts note that Russia has become one of the leading mining centers after China‘s ban, and regulation will help structure the industry and reduce infrastructure strain.
