Bitdeer to Convert 100 MW to Hydro-Cooling for Bitcoin Mining

Bitdeer has announced plans to convert 100 MW of capacity at its Rockdale, Texas facility to hydro-cooling. This project is expected to be completed between December 2024 and February 2025. The use of hydro-cooling will significantly reduce energy costs and increase the efficiency of mining rigs amid the low profitability of Bitcoin mining.

This move is part of Bitdeer’s broader plans to upgrade its equipment following the Bitcoin halving, which has sharply reduced mining profitability. In addition to the conversion, the company plans to complete mass production of its new SEALMINER A1 model by the end of 2024, adding 3.4 EH/s to its computing power.
