WhatsMiner and Hydro-Cooling: A New Milestone in Heat Integration

According to Hashlabs, hydro-cooled WhatsMiner units have proven capable of delivering sufficiently high temperatures for use in centralized heating systems. Coolant fluid can reach 55–60 °C, ideal for warming residential areas. Consequently, European heating providers are increasingly interested in employing mining as a cost-effective heat source.

Company reports indicate that such ASICs can convert up to 85% of their power consumption into usable heat, potentially displacing as much as 20% of traditional boiler capacity. Analysts predict that in 2025, the number of these projects will rise to 14, representing a total investment of $70 mln.

Although installation costs are significant, the system pays for itself within 3–4 years by cutting fuel expenses and generating BTC mining revenue. This synergy may radically reshape how mining is conceived and improve the energy efficiency of urban infrastructure.
