Underground Farm Uncovered in Donetsk: Damage at 1.3M Rubles
In Donetsk, authorities detained the owner of a covert crypto farm that caused Donetsk Energosbyt 1.355 million rubles in losses. The court imposed a 50K-ruble fine and granted a claim for compensation. Investigations revealed that equipment occupied a rented facility, drawing power around the clock without metering.
Although mining has been prohibited in the region since early 2024, the offender apparently tapped into the grid prior to the ban’s enactment and continued operating. Inspectors discovered dozens of illicitly running ASICs.
Donetsk Energosbyt officials emphasize that such actions undermine supply reliability and raise tariff pressure on lawful subscribers. DNR authorities plan stricter crackdowns on similar operations moving forward.
