SEC Sues Touzi Capital for Defrauding $95 Million from 1,200 Investors
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Touzi Capital, accusing it of defrauding over 1,200 crypto investors and misappropriating nearly $95 million. According to the SEC, Touzi Capital claimed that funds would go towards financing cryptocurrency mining operations, but used them for unrelated expenses.
The company misled investors by promising high returns and low risks. However, the funds were diverted to personal expenditures by management and debt repayment. The SEC seeks to return the money to investors and impose fines on those responsible.
This case highlights the importance of thoroughly vetting investment offers and increases regulatory scrutiny in the crypto industry.
