Cipher Mining Expands Capacity by 100 MW with New Texas Facility
Cipher Mining Inc. has announced the acquisition of a 250-acre site in West Texas, known as the Stingray facility. The new data center will add 100 megawatts of capacity to the company’s operations, with power consumption expected to begin in the first half of 2026.
With the addition of the Stingray site, Cipher’s portfolio and pipeline have increased to a combined 2.6 gigawatts across 11 locations. The company aims to strengthen its position in industrial-scale bitcoin mining and high-performance computing.
Cipher CEO Tyler Page stated that the expansion aligns with the company’s strategic goals and will help meet the growing demand for high-performance computing hosting and digital asset mining.
