199.4 Million kWh Imported for Kyrgyzstan Mining Project
Reports from Kyrgyzstan reveal that “Solarcoin” has arranged to import 199.4 million kWh of electricity from Russia. These supplies power large-scale farm complexes listed in the state registry of licensed mining operators. Since June 2023, energy usage has doubled, requiring up to 20 MW daily at peak demand.
Representatives state that “Solarcoin” operates under the supervision of the State Financial Inspectorate and is among only 10 fully approved entities in the country. Local economists estimate annual costs for this electricity could reach 800 million soms if mining demand continues to rise. The company asserts grid upgrades will help avoid blackouts.
Experts note that such massive energy consumption could attract further foreign investment but raises concerns about regional power capacity. Public figures indicate Kyrgyzstan’s total yearly generation barely surpasses 15 billion kWh.
