Proposal for bitcoin salaries: SB325 bill in Oklahoma

In Oklahoma, Senator Dusty Devers’ initiative to allow salaries to be paid in bitcoin is gaining momentum. According to the state’s finance committee, Oklahoma currently has a population of over 4.1 million, with roughly 2% already holding various cryptocurrencies.

Notably, annual in-state financial transfers exceed $12 bn, and some could shift into the “bitcoin segment” if the new legislation is approved. Experts highlight potential simplification of cross-border payments, enhanced financial literacy, and reduced transaction fees.
