Foundry Integrates Merge Mining with Rootstock, Boosting Network Security

Top Bitcoin pool Foundry has introduced merge mining for the Rootstock network. According to official data, this upgrade added around 200 EH/s to Rootstock’s overall security, potentially pushing total capacity above 80% of the hashing power currently protecting Bitcoin itself.

Experts highlight that merge mining allows miners to produce blocks in two networks simultaneously without increasing power usage. Foundry, for its part, gains from additional fees and broader liquidity. Analysts note that miners who adopted Rootstock alongside Bitcoin mining saw a 12% rise in monthly rewards in January.

Other major pools are expected to follow suit. Industry observers believe this development paves the way for expanding alternative solutions built on the Bitcoin protocol. Investment funds are also paying closer attention to Rootstock, viewing it as a smart contract platform with enhanced security.
