Filecoin mining pushes hardware demands: 256 GB RAM and 10 TB storage now baseline

Filecoin miners stand apart from traditional crypto miners: they earn FIL tokens by offering decentralized file storage and retrieval. This model boosted the number of providers by 15% last year, reaching over 3k participants.

2024 data shows total available Filecoin storage surpassed 10 PB, growing by about 0.5 PB per month. A large-scale provider can earn around $50k monthly if it ensures reliable storage and fast data delivery to clients. Such steady income streams attract new operators into the network.

If capacity hits 20 PB by 2026, the ecosystem may appeal more to corporate customers. If the trend continues, Filecoin will cement its position as a top platform for secure, distributed storage solutions.
