Bitcoin transaction fees hit an all-time low of $13.86 million

In September 2024, Bitcoin transaction fees hit an all-time low, reaching only $13.86 million. This significant decline surprised many analysts, as fees had previously maintained a steady level. The drop in fees is attributed to reduced user activity and a lower number of transactions on the network.

When compared to previous months, the impact of this decline is even more pronounced. For instance, in August 2024, fees amounted to $20 million, while in July they were around $25 million. September marked a month when this key revenue source for miners took a serious hit.

This decrease also intensified the pressure on miners, whose income depends on both transaction fees and block rewards. With rising operational costs and declining overall mining revenue, miners are now seeking new ways to maintain profitability.
