57% of Russian Miners Uncertain About Full Understanding of New Laws, Survey Finds
A recent RBC-Crypto survey of around 450 participants in Russia’s mining sector showed that 57% remain unsure whether they fully comprehend the latest regulations. Meanwhile, 21% reported experiencing improvements in their operating environment, and the rest saw no difference or chose not to track changes.
Experts suggest varying regional rules are partly responsible, offering little clarity on electricity tariffs or official authorizations. Over the last six months, more than 35% of respondents encountered inconsistent requirements when connecting to power grids across neighboring provinces. These issues have driven a 40% rise in demand for consultation services compared to early 2024.
RBC-Crypto concludes that the market is still adapting to new conditions. Specialists advise miners to engage with local authorities and closely review emerging decrees to avoid fines and maintain profitability. Additional federal guidance could become available by the end of the year.
