Chinese Nano Labs Begins Accepting Bitcoin as Payment
Nano Labs, a Chinese microchip designer for mining, has announced it will start accepting Bitcoin as payment for its goods and services through a business account on Coinbase. The move aligns with the company’s aim to keep pace with advancements in financial technology amid increasing demand for digital currencies.
Following the announcement, Nano Labs’ shares, listed on Nasdaq, rose by 2.81% to $3.29. Although this doesn’t offset the overall decline of over 60% from a peak of $8.33 last month, the news was positively received by investors.
Nano Labs stated that accepting BTC will provide greater payment flexibility and meet clients’ needs for efficient and secure cross-border transactions. The company did not specify whether it intends to hold the received Bitcoins on its balance sheet.
