Bukhara Schoolboy: 4,000 P2P Deals and 34 bln Sum
In Uzbekistan, a 17-year-old high school student executed 4,000 transactions on a crypto exchange, totaling 34 bln sum. He did P2P arbitrage, buying and reselling bitcoin with a roughly 0.2% markup, netting 68 mln sum per month.
An investigation was launched over illegal turnover of crypto assets. Still, the court acknowledged the minor’s cooperation and deemed the economic damage relatively low, ultimately dismissing the charges. His phone and account funds were seized but later returned by judicial order.
Local analysts say this illustrates the growing popularity of mining and trading among youth. Authorities now plan to regulate P2P platforms to monitor transactions and avert financial misconduct.
