Brazil Urges BRICS Countries to Abandon US Dollar
Brazilian authorities have proposed that BRICS countries abandon the use of the US dollar in international trade, promoting national currencies. The goal is to strengthen economic independence and reduce the influence of the American currency on global markets.
According to Brazil’s Central Bank, switching to national currencies could increase trade turnover among BRICS countries by $250 billion annually. Working groups have been established to develop settlement mechanisms.
Experts note that this initiative could significantly alter the global financial landscape and reduce the dominance of the dollar.
