Nano Labs Rolls Out Proof-of-Green, Awards FDK for Clean Power

Chinese company Nano Labs has introduced the Proof-of-Green (PoG) concept, aiming to reward miners using renewable energy. According to the firm, any operator meeting ecological requirements will receive FDK tokens proportional to their carbon savings. This initiative seeks to enhance the adoption of “green” mining, which already accounts for approximately 38% of total computing activities, according to several analysts.

PoG’s launch features a special certification program. Applicants must submit energy consumption reports audited by independent reviewers. Nano Labs states that once “clean” power is verified, rewards will be distributed weekly. The company plans to expand geographically, eyeing partnerships with over 15 countries to form a global network of eco-friendly operators. Based on an internal report, this system could raise the share of green mining farms to 55% over the next three years.

Experts anticipate major growth in the blockchain sector that embraces environmental consciousness, as the financial advantage of shrinking carbon footprints becomes evident. Projections suggest that total investments in “clean” mining may approach $5.2 bln by late 2026. Some market participants believe the PoG protocol could become a catalyst for further innovation in the industry.
