“MiningReestr”: FTS Monitors ASIC Serial Numbers Across Russia

The Russian Federal Tax Service has launched “MiningReestr,” a new registration system tracking the serial numbers of every ASIC used for crypto extraction. This move aims to streamline the market and curb illegal imports. According to FTS representatives, each piece of hardware now undergoes verification against customs declarations.

If any irregularities surface — such as missing paperwork — device owners could face substantial administrative penalties. Analysts point out that under current regulations, undeclared imports risk fines and a potential prohibition on operational activities. Furthermore, any attempt to alter or hide a serial number is treated as deliberate data manipulation.

This initiative is expected to increase transparency and eliminate “gray” importing schemes in the mining sector. At the same time, legitimate businesses can verify their hardware’s lawful origin, reducing associated risks.
