US tops global bitcoin holdings, followed by Germany and Ukraine
Recent reports show the US government holds the largest bitcoin reserves among nations, surpassing Germany and Ukraine. This revelation indicates a significant shift in crypto influence. In 2024, the US position reached about 215k BTC, while Germany held under 50k BTC and Ukraine around 46k BTC.
Data suggests the US stash exceeds $21 bn at prices over $100k per coin. Germany and Ukraine combined hold less than $10 bn. Analysts believe this strengthens the US role in global financial decision-making and enhances interest in using cryptoassets as strategic reserves.
If this trend persists, by 2026 the US share could approach 300k BTC. If US policy remains unchanged, the world may witness further consolidation of crypto resources in a single major player’s hands.
