Tether Plans to Lend to Global Commodity Traders
Tether, the issuer of the largest stablecoin USDT, announced plans to start lending to global commodity traders. This involves providing loans in USDT secured by physical assets like gold and oil.
The initiative aims to increase liquidity in commodity markets and expand the use of stablecoins in the traditional economy. The credit line volume could reach up to $1 billion in the initial phase.
Experts believe this will strengthen Tether’s position in the financial market and boost trust in stablecoins as tools for international settlements.
