Avalon Q Conquers Silence: Only 45 dB of Noise

Canaan has released new details about the noise level of its Avalon Q ASIC miner: operational sound is reportedly just 45 dB, comparable to a quiet library. This breakthrough could be a game-changer for residential environments where loud mining rigs have long posed a challenge.

The prototype underwent a series of lab and real-world tests. Engineers say the result stems from a redesigned cooling system and an optimized chassis. Several beta testers note that even at 90 TH/s, the miner’s temperature averages around 55 degrees Celsius, without exceeding that figure under extended workloads. Experts believe this low noise threshold will reduce conflicts when deployed in homes or small offices.

The Avalon Q is likely to attract home miners who have lacked a “whisper-quiet” solution. The manufacturer also plans to launch accessories aimed at simplifying installation and maintenance. This miner’s hash power remains stable with minimal energy consumption, making it highly competitive in the home-use market.
