Core Scientific Invests $6.1 Billion to Convert Texas Mining Facility into AI Data Center
Core Scientific has announced plans to invest $6.1 billion in converting its Bitcoin mining facility in Denton, Texas, into a data center supporting artificial intelligence.
The new data center will have a capacity of 394 MW and create about 300 jobs. The project involves leasing 78.85 acres of land and building two on-site substations.
This initiative reflects the company’s shift from crypto mining to providing high-performance computing services for AI, responding to growing demand in this sector.
