AgriFORCE to Repurpose Mining Heat for Aquaculture: $4.5 mln Deal for Ohio Facility
AgriFORCE Growing Systems has announced the acquisition of a Bitcoin mining site in Columbiana County, Ohio, for $4.5 mln. The facility currently runs over 900 miners, with a target capacity of at least 1200 units. According to the management team, a major focus will be channeling heat emitted by the hardware into freshwater aquaculture operations.
Reports indicate that this could boost overall revenue by up to 25% through premium fish sales and reduced heating costs. Annual savings could total around $1.2 mln. Analysts note that this strategy aligns with the rising push toward energy efficiency and eco-friendly upgrades in agricultural production.
AgriFORCE also plans to adopt carbon capture technology to further minimize environmental impact. Project groundwork is set to begin in the coming quarter, with completion aimed for late next year.
