Andrey Lugovoy Criticizes Mining Ban in Energy-Surplus Regions

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security, Andrey Lugovoy, sharply criticized plans to ban mining in Russia‘s energy-surplus regions. He called such measures “foolish” and damaging to the industry.

According to Lugovoy, banning mining in regions with excess electricity contradicts common sense and economic logic. Instead, he suggests combating illegal mining and creating conditions for legal operations.

Lugovoy emphasized that mining can bring significant revenue to regional budgets and promote the development of energy infrastructure. He urged the government to reconsider its plans and support the industry.
