Russian Lawmaker Suggests Cryptocurrencies May Be Used in Budget in 100 Years

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, Anatoly Aksakov, suggested that in 100 years, cryptocurrencies might be used alongside fiat money in Russia‘s budget process. He noted that technologies evolve, and digital money may find its place in the financial system.

However, for now, he believes that using bitcoin in the country’s gold and forex reserves is inappropriate due to its volatility and private nature. Aksakov emphasized that the only legitimate means of payment in Russia remains the ruble.

Experts think that such statements reflect growing interest in digital assets, but practical application in the state budget is unlikely at present.
