AirNet Reenters Bitcoin: 130MW in Kazakhstan

After halting Ethereum mining, AirNet Technology Inc. revealed a large-scale comeback to the crypto space by constructing 130MW of capacity for Bitcoin mining in Kazakhstan. The plan involves tapping 70MW from the national grid and 60MW from a natural gas facility, coupled with liquid-cooled hardware. This hybrid approach aims to limit disruptions and ensure stable data center operations.

AirNet expects to optimize electricity costs and lessen dependency on external providers. Specialists predict an average load of around 85%, with initial deployment expected within the next six months. Previously, AirNet focused on different fields, but the decision to move into Kazakhstan is driven by the prospect of keeping BTC production costs below $30,000.

The market reacted favorably: the company’s shares briefly rose by 25%, then reverted to prior levels. Top management estimates up to 12 months for full rollout, after which AirNet could once again become a key mining player. Experts see this move as a sign of broader expansion, leveraging low-cost energy in Central Asia.
