IREN Confirms Growth to 50 EH/s in the First Half of 2025
IREN Limited has unveiled plans to expand its power capacity to 50 EH/s by the first half of 2025. Management states that the current 31 EH/s foundation enables rapid scaling, leveraging integrated energy storage solutions.
Corporate filings show an additional 300MW going online by year’s end, with the remaining 200MW slated for early next year. Total funding for the initiative is estimated at $1.2 bln. Experts believe this approach could place the company among industry leaders, rivaling players like CleanSpark and Marathon.
New hardware will feature fifth-generation ASICs at around 15 J/T. The move is expected to enhance IREN’s ability to manage variable grid loads, preventing peak tariff charges. Thus, the firm plans to maintain competitive operational costs despite rising network difficulty.
