MP Alexey Nechaev: Mining to Bring Russia $3 Billion and Balance Energy System

Head of the parliamentary faction “New People” Alexey Nechaev stated that cryptocurrency mining could generate $3 billion in export revenue for Russia. He noted that this is comparable to a third of the arms market in its best times and would be a significant income for the country’s budget.

Nechaev emphasized that mining is essentially selling electricity abroad in the form of digital currency. Using surplus capacities for mining will help balance the energy system, especially in regions with excess electricity.

Furthermore, the development of mining promotes the adoption of new technologies and strengthens Russia’s position in the global cryptocurrency market. The deputy highlighted the importance of creating favorable conditions for the mining industry in the country.
