Surge in Mining Equipment Demand Follows Legalization of Cryptocurrency Mining in Russia

The demand for cryptocurrency mining equipment in Russia has tripled following the recent legalization of mining activities. According to Chilkoot, an official distributor of mining equipment in Russia, the number of inquiries they received surged from 150–200 per month before the law to nearly three times that amount by the end of July. *reference19

Oleg Ogiyenko, Deputy General Director of Communications at BitRiver, Russia’s largest operator of mining data centers and a major importer of mining equipment, confirmed the rising demand for their services. Both private and institutional clients, domestic and international, have shown increased interest.

Sergey Bezdelyov, Director of the Industrial Mining Association, noted that the new law has provided legal certainty for purchasing mining equipment without the risk of confiscation. This regulatory clarity has encouraged the entry of significant players with substantial capital into the market, who previously hesitated to invest in the industry.
