SpaceX Moves $150M in Bitcoin After 3-Year Inactivity

Elon Musk’s SpaceX transferred 1,308 BTC worth $150M, marking its first crypto transaction since 2022. The move aligns with growing institutional adoption and political support for crypto in the US.

SpaceX Executes First Bitcoin Transfer Since 2022

On Tuesday, Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX moved 1,308 BTC—valued at around $150 million—to a new wallet address. According to blockchain data from Arkham Intelligence, this was the company’s first crypto movement in over three years.

Previously, between May and June 2022, SpaceX had transferred 17,314 BTC to Coinbase. The latest transaction has sparked renewed speculation about SpaceX’s crypto strategy, as no official statement has been released regarding the purpose of the transfer.

Elon Musk’s Companies Hold Over $2 Billion in BTC

Following the transaction, SpaceX still holds 6,977 BTC, worth approximately $825 million. Tesla, also owned by Musk, holds 11,509 BTC, valued at about $1.36 billion. Combined, the two companies have more than $2 billion in bitcoin holdings.

According to Arkham, the average purchase price was around $32,000, putting Musk’s firms up nearly $1.5 billion in unrealized profits.

The timing of this transfer coincides with a wave of institutional bitcoin adoption in the US. President Donald Trump’s renewed support for crypto and recent legislative progress have pushed many corporations to embrace digital assets.

Musk, meanwhile, recently launched the “America Party,” a new political movement pledging support for Bitcoin and challenging the current two-party dominance.
